TEE – WordPress Theme

Overview

TEE (Twenty Eleven Enhanced) is a WordPress child theme for Twenty Eleven that provides additional options whilst still maintaining support for the existing Twenty Eleven features.

This site runs a mostly default setup of the TEE theme using the Twenty Eleven right hand sidebar layout and the light styling.  As such you should be able to see many examples of the TEE features from simply browsing this site.  Screenshots of the additional options provided through the WordPress admin interface are included at the bottom of this page.

Current Version

The current release version of TEE is 0.4 and can be downloaded from -

  • WordPress theme repository – Not yet available…need to tidy some code up before I submit it.

Features retained from Twenty Eleven

The Twenty Eleven theme already has many useful features and TEE maintains all of these including -

  • Custom menu support
  • Custom header image
  • Background color setting
  • Adaptable layout
  • Post formats
  • Light and Dark themes
  • 3 layout options

New features provided by TEE

TEE provides the following additional features -

  • General reduction of whitespace compared to Twenty Eleven whilst maintaining the same maximum dimensions
  • If a layout with a sidebar is selected then the sidebar will be displayed on all pages by default.  This is a reversal of the Twenty Eleven default behavior for pages which would display without a sidebar.
    • Additional page template added that can be selected for a no sidebar page
  • Custom header image dimensions without having to edit code
  • Option to disable the header image replacement when viewing an individual page/post that has a featured image of the appropriate size.
  • Additional styling options for widget areas including rounded corners, adding an optional background color and drop shadow effect
  • Gallery post format changes
    • Featured image for a gallery post now shows as the main image in the stream alongside the first 2 other images
    • Added a page template that displays all the posts in the gallery post format.  See the Photo Gallery on this site for an example.
  • Image attachment page enhanced with image meta data if present.  The meta data box currently uses the same styling as the widget boxes.
    • The image attachment page does not use a sidebar regardless of the layout chosen so that the full image can be displayed.  See this photo for an example.
  • Additional styling added for the Jetpack twitter and Twenty Eleven Ephemera widgets so they fit with the re-styled standard widgets
